You're puttin...Hey, "Fearless Rick."

You're putting on a great show—and I'm both enjoying it and learning from it!

The photo slideshow labeled "What do the pictures have in common?" is a great prompt for all kinds of communicative practice—both aural and written. You could, for example, ask students (individually or working collaboratively in pairs or groups) to postulate their own answer to the question and then write the answer—as a simple sentence, a well-developed paragraph, or even a multi-paragraph essay. You could also collect short responses from several viewers, then ask students (again, working individually or collaboratively) to compare their answer with some else's or you could ask students (once again, individually or collaboratively) whether they agree or disagree with a particular response and to explain why, etc. etc. etc. The slide show is a great prompt because it's focused enough to allow for generalizations but varied enough to allow for numerous quite different responses. Well chosen!

I also like Andy's "Catch Me If You Can" very much; thanks for making it possible to hear him. By the way, Carla had another excellent musician in another WT4E class. His name is Flávio Fonseca. Rick and Andy, you might find THIS interesting.

Keep up the excellent work, Fearless Rick!

Parabéns!

Dennis in PhoenixDennishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14406878238507555896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111501022262370381.post-61597530615787556792009-09-13T22:50:41.037-03:002009-09-13T22:50:41.037-03:00Rick, I'd like to see the activity you mention...Rick, I'd like to see the activity you mentioned.
